Audit reveals major railroad traffic delays - WGN
Federal audit says nearly 1,500 delays not reported by CN Railway
Nick Boyan - WGN News
Delays from freight trains in the suburbs are much worse than previously reported. A new audit reveals 100 times more delays occurred than reported by the Canadian National Railway.
If you drive anywhere from Mundelein to northwest Indiana, you have probably gotten stuck at a railroad crossing thanks to a long, slow-moving freight train. The delays are happening along the former Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway. CN purchased the line last year and is required to report delays to federal regulators as part of the deal.
